LUXEMBOURG – Delphi Corporation has stepped-up its global research into the many engineering challenges underlying the rapid growth in biofuel usage. The intension is to ensure that all Delphi fuel injection and fuel handling technologies meet the requirements of vehicle manufacturers for compatibility with high biofuel ratios ahead of market and legislative demand. The company has already supplied ethanol-compatible components for approximately 2.5 million vehicles worldwide and has uprated its diesel injection systems to be compatible with a five percent bio mix.

All-makes parts programme introduced to generate new revenue

Independent garages in the Peterborough area will have access to a wide range of vehicle parts for all makes of cars from a single source, as Marshall Motor Group expands its parts business. The dealership has been without an all-makes parts capability for several years, but recently decided to re-introduce an offering alongside its OE parts business. Under the XPart All-Makes scheme, Marshall Motor Group will have access to more than 32,000 parts covering all of the main product groups such as brakes, rotating electrics, filters, exhausts and many other products.

Wire in Composite (WiC) receives prestigious Innovation of the Show award at the UK’s major motorsport exhibition

BERU F1 Systems’ novel system for the protection of wiring harnesses in harsh environments has won Innovation of the Show at Autosport International 2007.  The award, judged by the editorial panel of leading motorsport engineering title Racecar Engineering, was presented to the Norfolk company for its Wire in Composite product, a technology that featured on Jaguar’s C-XF car at this month’s Detroit Auto Show.

Luxembourg - A new type of diesel oil condition sensor, developed by Delphi Corporation at its technical centre in Mexico, will help increase engine reliability, reduce warranty issues and bring further cost reductions for vehicle operators. Compared with today’s diesel oil sensing technologies, the Delphi system will further extend oil and filter change intervals, reduce the quantity of oil for disposal and help maximise the time vehicles spend on the road. The new system is now available for integration with vehicle development programmes.
