French composer and artist Jean-Michel Jarre, Beninese creator and singer Angélique Kidjo, Senegalese sculptor Ousmane Sow, Indian poet, scriptwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar and Argentinean film director Marcelo Piñeyro, have welcomed the decision of the European Council of 14th June 2013 to preserve the “cultural exception” and exclude cultural and audiovisual services from the scope of trade negotiations between the EU and the USA.
