Minister of State for Competitiveness, Stephen Timms, experienced the latest zero emissions electric vehicle technology when he visited West Midlands firm Zytek this week. The firm was chosen for the visit because of its leading role in some of the world’s most impressive zero emissions vehicle projects.

Unique Allison-equipped airport crash truck with rear mounted drive engine on MAN chassis cuts emergency response times at Dresden airport, providing new level fire fighting capability that allows airport to expand operations.

Allison’s M6610 fully automatic transmission delivers uninterrupted power to the wheels of MAN’s 41 ton Panther 8x8MA5, achieving an impressive acceleration of 0 to 80 kilometres per hour in less than 25 seconds. As well as reaching any potential crash site within three minutes the vehicle is also easy to handle and can be operated entirely by one individual, including extinguishing devices. The ease of vehicle control provided by the automatic transmission allows the driver a free hand to operate the demanding extinguishing equipment whilst the vehicle manoeuvring the vehicle.

Delphi celebrates 10 years and plans further growth in Romania   Print

Sannicolau Mare, Romania — Delphi organization celebrates 10 years of doing business in Romania, at the same time expanding with the recently announced new diesel engine management system (EMS) components plant in Iasi.

The company has been operating in the country since 1997 when the first plant in Sannicolau Mare was opened. Today, Delphi’s two manufacturing Electrical/ Electronic Architecture (EEA) facilities in Sannicolau Mare and Ineu (northwest of Romania) employ collectively 10,000 people.
