Friday, 10th February 2012 |
Emergency Logistics specialist Evolution Time Critical has overcome festive disruptions, complex customs procedures and a remote delivery location to ensure vital parts were delivered to a client 1200 miles inside China. The parts were needed for a crucial test, scheduled to take place in Dandong China on the border with North Korea, but were delayed in the UK on the 23rd December, two days before the UK’s biggest public holiday. The client’s standard courier could not deliver the parts by the required deadline due to time of year, so Evolution Time Critical was called in to ensure the programme wasn’t disrupted.

Bearings designed in close cooperation with German tower clock manufacturer Perrot
Stadtallendorf, Germany, 9 February 2012 … Federal-Mogul Corporation (NASDAQ: FDML) has supplied high-performance self-lubricating bearings from its DEVA bearings division to ensure reliable operation of the world’s largest tower clock, the Makkah Clock Royal Tower at the Fairmont Hotel in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The bearings were designed in close cooperation with German tower clock manufacturer Perrot. The exceptional demands created by the shafts carrying hour and minute hands each weighing around 7.5 tonnes, ruled out any conventional solutions, such as roller or bronze plain bearings. Only Federal-Mogul’s self-lubricating deva.bm® was able to handle the combination of extreme loads, low rotational speed, intermittent motion and harsh operating environment.
