Garages and tyre retailers can play their part in helping motorists stay safe on the roads this winter by advising them to consider cold weather tyres

TyreSafe is calling on garages and tyre retailers to educate motorists on the benefits of fitting cold weather tyres to improve road safety and reduce the number of road traffic accidents. Despite the change in road conditions at the onset of winter, many drivers continue to drive on standard tyres. Rigorous analysis delivers exceptional accuracy in fuel consumption testing   Print
Fuel efficiency comparisons can be determined not only through Millbrook?s engine and chassis dynamometer capabilities for light and heavy duty vehicles, but also via access to 50km of test tracks that allow repeatable simulation of almost every duty cycle Monday, 17th November 2008

Very small changes in fuel consumption can now be measured quickly and cost-effectively with up to 0.25 percent repeatability

Very small differences in fuel consumption are exceptionally hard to measure but for fleets they can lead to tens of thousands of pounds saved or lost every year. New techniques developed at test specialist Millbrook will allow these differences to be measured accurately and repeatably for the first time, helping fleet managers identify small improvements that add up to big savings.
