New stainless steel coolant pipes are now available for manual MGF and TF cars from all XPart AutoService centres and parts wholesalers. The pipes are being manufactured on original MG Rover tooling and have been rigorously tested to meet with XPart’s quality requirements. They offer a robust alternative to the cars’ standard-fit steel pipes, which are susceptible to corrosion. The new pipes will cost £65 + VAT and can be ordered under part number PEP102470SS.

Alex Burnett joins Evolution Time Critical as European Sales Development Manager

Evolution Time Critical has appointed Alex Burnett as its new European Sales Development Manager. Burnett, previously of logistics firm TNT, will be responsible for forging relationships with European car manufacturers and their tiered suppliers, and explaining how Evolution’s emergency logistics services help to prevent costly production delays around the world. His appointment is the company’s second in the past few months, following the recent addition of Barbara Piber to its German sales team. Transmission specialist Zeroshift has devised a multi-speed gearbox for electric vehicles (EVs) that needs no clutch – a damper inside the gear hubs and electronic control of the motor make ratio changes seamless. Having more than one gear ratio and the ability to shift without interrupting torque means the motor runs at higher efficiency, extending range and batteries’ life expectancy by up to 10 percent.

Premium wheel manufacturer Solomon Alsberg is launching its new range of Eco Super Light forged alloy wheels in the UK. The wheels are designed to improve handling, acceleration times and emissions. Distribution partners are required in the UK and other European countries.

28 July 2010 Diversified technology company 3M has established a specialist Automotive Acoustics Group in Europe. Already active in NVH and structural adhesives, the Group will focus on balancing manufacturers’ weight reduction and acoustics requirements, and developing advanced materials and products into cost-effective bespoke solutions. 3M is allocating additional resources to its European acoustics laboratories and will expand its European engineering, testing and manufacturing capabilities.
